How we handle information submitted through this independent editorial guide.
Last updated: September 4, 2026
1. Who we are
This website (the "Site") is an independent editorial guide to the Skyecroft community in Waxhaw and Weddington, North Carolina. It is operated privately and is not the Skyecroft homeowners' association, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing the HOA, the community's developer, its club, or any governing body. See our Disclosures page for the full independence statement.
2. Information we collect
The Site is purely informational. It does not operate a contact form, inbox, newsletter, or account system, and it does not ask you to submit personal information of any kind. If you choose to reach out to an independent firm listed on the Site, you do so on that firm's own website, under that firm's own privacy policy. We do not request or knowingly collect Social Security numbers, government identifiers, financial account numbers, health information, precise geolocation, biometric data, or similarly sensitive personal information.
Because there is no form and no inbox on the Site, nothing you type is transmitted to us and nothing is stored in any database on this Site.
Our hosting provider may automatically log standard technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security, abuse prevention, and reliability. See our Cookie Policy for what is stored on your device.
3. How we use information
We use what you submit solely to respond to your inquiry, arrange a private tour, provide editorial or resource information you requested, or connect you with an independent local expert appropriate to your interest. We also use technical logs to secure and maintain the Site. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
4. Legal bases and disclosure
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on our legitimate interest in operating and securing an editorial website. We may disclose information only (a) to the independent local expert you asked to be connected with, (b) to service providers that host or secure the Site, or (c) where required by law, subpoena, or to protect legal rights and safety.
5. Retention and security
Because submissions arrive as ordinary email, they are retained only as long as needed to respond and to keep a reasonable record of the correspondence, and then deleted. We use commercially reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Third-party services and links
The Site links to independent third-party businesses referenced as trusted local experts (real estate, custom homes, interior design, and smart home technology). Those companies operate their own websites, maintain their own privacy practices, and are responsible for their own compliance. Once you leave this Site, this Privacy Policy no longer applies.
7. Cookies and analytics
The Site uses only strictly necessary cookies and local storage, plus (where enabled) anonymous aggregate analytics. Details and your controls are in the Cookie Policy.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information we hold, to opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither), and to be free from retaliation for exercising those rights. California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and comparable state residents, and residents of jurisdictions covered by the GDPR/UK GDPR, may exercise these rights by sending a request through our contact page. Because we do not maintain a database of Site submissions, fulfilling a deletion request typically means deleting the original email correspondence. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity.
9. Children's privacy
The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International visitors
The Site is operated in the United States and intended for U.S. audiences. If you access it from elsewhere, you understand that any information you submit will be processed in the United States.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
12. Contact
Questions about this policy may be directed through our contact page, the Site's only channel of communication. See also our Terms of Use and Accessibility & Fair Housing statement.
